Missing Passion : A Bike

This Story is Narrated by Sid whose 'Passion' went missing.

It was Friday evening and I was at my office finishing weeks targets and feeling as hungry as ever. My Fav evening snack Haldiram's Nimbu Bhel which was waiting for me at my Hero Honda Passion's Side Bag resting nicely in the Parking Lot.  I went down stairs to have grab it. As soon as I went into the parking I was shocked for a moment and my hunger was lost like a Full Moon in Day time.

My Passion Was Missing. Yes my Bike HH Passsion was not where I left it.

I summoned our office guard asking him has he seen anyone taking it away, and expectedly reply was negative. Why does a human asks rhetoric quetions when he/she is mess. I was wandering round the whole office premises looking for my bike like a child searching for his fav toy. In the area around 0.5Sq km. No area was left untouched and my mind started throwing me all the un- parliamentary words which I was giving to the one who had taken my bike away.

Then my eyes suddenly fell on the CCTV, and I straight away asked Security guard to show me the clip for last 5 hours since I had last seen my bike. Murphy's Law was waiting for its turn to get applied " When you need something the most and you will not find it". They said can only see the clip next morning as the office was closed for the day. WTF. this kind of service can be given only in India.

While few of us were looking for some kind of clue where my bike was, a smart minded person named Shahid came and asked " What's wrong Bro?". I explained him about the situation. He quickly said its not stolen for sure, it got replaced. I said " What? How is that possible. Bike keys are in my pocket.". How can someone take your bike without using your key. Well he had experience this earlier and said that's the problem with today's bikes. Any used can help you to open the lock for the same category of Bike.
It was shocking for me.

We went to guard asked him whose bike was standing outside the company premises which except for the colour totally looked like mine. And there we got our first and most important clue. Guard said that it was the bike of some outsider, standing in our premises at the same place where you kept your bike and I just moved it out, as it was not in the visitors parking area. Here we were 90% sure that the person who took my bike has left his old one here.

We quickly took into our custody and started finding the owners name. Similar to Shahid Afridi's Sixer, Boom Shahid came up with some eroded key and it opened the tool kit locker, and we got all the documents related to the bike and its owner. It was 'Mr. Raj Karke's Bike'.

Luckily, address what not that far from the site of replacement and I along with my colleague Jaspreet went toRaj's Place and asked for Raj. He was not at home. explaining whole incident to his family members his father said "It not possible because our bike is at service center". I was having all the original documents of his son's bike and he was saying that it was not their bike. We requested them to speak to their Son about the issue. His wife and a cute son were anxiously listening and trying to understand the matter.  Raj's Father called him and asked where his bike was initially he said its at service center then as soon as I explained him why I was at his place with all the documents, I didn't got any response. It was as if his tongue had slipped into his stomach. We sensed something was wrong with Raj or his bike. So I requested him to return my  bike asap to the place where he got it exchange (mistakenly that what he said).
He said he will be there in next 15 Mins.

We went back to the office and were anxiously waiting for Raj's call. If felt like time was crawling and snails pace and anxiety was increasing with every minute being passed by. I just wanted my bike to be safe and in the same shape as I left it 6 hours back. Theory of Relativity was never experienced as good as I was experiencing it then. Alber Einstien was truly a Genius.

Phone rang. The voice on the other side said "I am Raj's Friend Sunil I have your bike with me." He wanted the address where to bring the bike back. I said as you picked it you must me knowing where you picked it from. And there entered another character,Prakash in the story. He said bike was mistakenly exchanged by Prakash.

We gave him the address and asked them to come in next 15 mins as we were ready to go to Police if the bike is not received in due time. We kept staring at the end of the road if any Bike , any passion was coming towards our way.  I kept calling Sunil to know his location and he kept calling me asking for address or a milestone.

After 9 P.M, two persons came on moped with one sitting at the back having the fresh wounds on the face. It was Prakash with his Son. Prakash was a lean looking, 50 Year old man who was working at Contractor for some construction going at our office building. He looked worried and started apologizing for taking my bike away. Then two more gentleman followed up on bike which was not mine. It was Sunil with his friend.

I enquirerd about my bike and they said it resting safely at home of owner of the other bike i.e. Raj's Place. I said, we have been to his place and it was not there. Prakash insisted  that it is there. So we asked him to get that. And the reply was funny the key he used to start my bike earlier was not able to start it again.

Just for safety I asked Jaspreet to take care of Prakash's wounded Son for the mean time I get my bike. It was like a old hindi movie you have our man and we have yours as a "Security".

Hence I went with him for Raj's Place. But there were more twist and turn in story. He led me to some other place and when I questioned him where are we heading for he said at the Bike owner's Vishal's Place.
"What are you saying?" I blabbered. " How can Vishal be the owner when I have the papers of the bike on the name of Raj.

Quickly we reached Vishal's Place. And as my eyes fell on my bike standing as smartly as ever in his lawn, I felt like getting my life back. It was the same feeling a mother will have if she looses her kid for sometime and then sees it playing around the tree.

I thanked Prakash and Vishal, and casually asked who is the real owner of the other bike which is standing at my office, the one that got exchanged. Prakash said "Vishal" and simultaneously Vishal said " Raj".

And Vishal said let go back to your office and get my bike back. I asked him whats the real matter and he explained it on the way.
Visha said " Raj mortgaged his bike 10 days back to Vishal (who apparently is his Brother in Law) for INR 20,000 to play Lottery and said at home that bike has been sent for servicing. Remember his father saying me it not our bike.  He had done this earlier as well hence Raj was confident of keeping it a secret from his family.
Vishal gave his bike today morning to his best friend Sunil. Sunil who works in a construction field gave it to his employee Prakash for site inspection, where site is my office.

Prakash came to my office at 2:30 pm for an hours work. My office's Guard finding an outsider bike in our parking area he pushed it outside the premises by acting over smart. I reached office at 3:00 p.m and parked my bike at the same place. where Raj's bike was parked. At 4:30 p.m  Prakash got a call from Medical Hospital asking him to come soon as his son with his friend had met an accident with a Truck on highway. Just like any loving father, Prakash ran through the parking and got on my bike mistakenly and took my bike with him.  His sons friend lost his hand in the accident.

At 6 p.m when I came to know about the missing bike and contacted Raj over phone. He called his brother in Law (Vishal) who called his friend (Sunil) who called (Prakash) that whose is the bike he is riding around the city and the reality struck Prakash that I was the wrong bike he was carrying and the chain completed when I called him.

By the time Vishal was ending his story we had already reached our office and had 10 other people engrossed in hearing the same. Sooner Vishal ended the actual situation one of the Sunil's friend said he had just given 3.35 Lacs as loan to Raj, who seems to be a defaulter and he was sweating like a pig. He asked Vishal to accompany him to Raj's place asking for his money back.

Wooooosh..... It was confusing like a CAT's Logical reasoning Question. I was glad that I got my bike back in the same shape I left it. But was feeling bad for Raj whose many secrets were already revealed in front of his family and many were waiting to be unlocked.

A bike had almost ruined the day for Raj. and made a day for Sunils Friend.
Passion for Good Things need to be preserved not to be mortgaged.

Lesson : Be faithful and true to your family always.
